Gas Dehydration Skids

When natural gas is produced from the reservoir, it is typically saturated with water vapor. In order to meet the pipeline specification, the water vapor needs to be removed. For sales of gas in warmer climates, as in the southern areas of the U.S., water content for pipeline quality specifications should not exceed 7 pounds per million standard cubic feet. At a minimum, glycol dehydration units must typically meet this specification. Further removal may be required if additional hydrate formation temperature depression is required, such as upstream of a cryogenic process or gas plant. BTEX, otherwise known as benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes, are compounds that occur naturally in crude oil.

BTEX compounds have emissions maximums that are monitored by the EPA. These compounds are liquid at atmospheric temperature and pressure; however, it is possible for them to be vapor in natural gas streams. BTEX is typically accompanied by other volatile organic compounds, or VOCs. BTEX and VOCs in natural gas are absorbed by TEG in the dehydration tower and driven off by the dehy-reboiler. The vapors from the reboiler are sent to a piece of equipment called a BTEX eliminator. This is a simple system that is typically an atmospheric-cooled heat exchanger and a two-phase separator. The condensed BTEX liquids are sent to storage while VOCs are burned as fuel for the dehy-reboiler.

LACT Unit

LACT units, or Lease Automatic Custody Transfer units, are essential in the oil and gas industry for the automated measurement and transfer of crude oil. They ensure accurate measurement while complying with strict regulations set by API, BLM, and EPA, helping to avoid costly fines and disputes. LACT units are responsible for transporting crude oil from production sites to pipelines and storage facilities, measuring both the quantity and quality of the substance being transferred. They play a critical role in custody transfer systems, ensuring reliable and efficient operations in the handling of hydrocarbons.

Coalescing Filtration Skids

The harmful effects of moisture and particulate contamination in Fuel Oil have been well documented. Oil Filtration Systems® has combined the latest innovations in coalescer technology and pleated microglass filter media in one system to achieve optimal fluid cleanliness in fuel oils. Utilizing high-efficiency coalescer/separator filter elements, these systems are designed to quickly remove large amounts of free water from diesel fuel or other fuel oils, achieving overall water content as low as 8 PPM. At the same time, the high efficiency pleated microglass filter elements can achieve very low particle counts as low as an ISO 15/13/10 Cleanliness Level.

Pressure Reducing Skids

Pressure regulating/reducing skids are packaged stations utilized by gas pipelines. The pressure-reduction system controls the supply pressure to the gas users at a regulated value. Each system consists of at least two trains of pressure reduction, one operating and the other standby.

Pressure Relief Skids

A pressure relief skid, also known as a surge relief skid, is a pre-engineered and skid-mounted package designed to protect pipelines, equipment, and systems from pressure surges or transient conditions in fluid handling systems. Skids are prefabricated pressure-reducing stations designed to the customer’s specifications and include a range of products such as regulators, manual isolation valves, and piping.

Slug Catcher Skids

Pipelines handling multiphase flows of gas and liquid, slug flow, can pose significant operational challenges. To mitigate these challenges, slug catchers serve as critical components in pipeline systems. In this article, we will explore what slug catchers are, how they work, their types, and their benefits. A slug catcher is a piece of static equipment in the form of a vessel or piping network. It contains sufficient buffer volume to handle the largest expected slug from the oil & gas pipeline systems or flowlines. Flowlines carrying multiphase fluids (Crude Oil, Gas, Water, and Mixtures) often form damaging slugs. Slug catchers protect the equipment and support from abrupt failure due to forces generated because of slug flow. They are normally located before transferring the fluid into the processing equipment.

Ammonia Injection Skids

An Aqueous Ammonia Injection Skid is a system that injects aqueous ammonia into a flue gas stream to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. NOx is a harmful air pollutant that can be produced by combustion processes in industrial plants, power plants, and other facilities. Aqueous ammonia injection can be used as part of a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system to reduce NOx emissions. The skid typically includes a storage tank for the aqueous ammonia, a pump to deliver the ammonia to the injection point, a control system to regulate the injection rate, and associated piping and valves. The system is designed to inject the ammonia at a precise rate and location in the flue gas stream to maximize the reduction of NOx emissions.

Gas Blending Skids

Our fuel gas blending skids are designed to efficiently blend biogas with natural gas for boilers and generators, optimizing the use of renewable energy sources. These systems prioritize biogas, such as digester or landfill gas, reducing the consumption and cost of natural gas. Ideal for facilities with an existing biogas supply, our blending skids ensure consistent energy production while cutting down on natural gas reliance.

Vapor Recovery Skids

Vapor recovery is the process of removing harmful vapor and fluid contaminants from crude products to improve purity and prevent the release of toxic pollutants into the environment. Vapor removal is also done in chemical processing industries to recover unwanted vapors from storage units to keep the chemicals pure and safe for use and transport.

Nitrogen Generator Skids

The skid-mounted nitrogen generators are commonly used in the Oil & Gas Industry, Ammonia plants, Chemical Manufacturing Facilities, Pipeline Maintenance, and Refineries. These units are designed to operate onshore or offshore. We build standard designs or to custom engineering specifications, to provide reliable, cost-effective membrane separation solutions.

Custody Transfer Metering Skids

A Custody Transfer Metering Skid is an integrated system used in the oil and gas industry to accurately measure the transfer of fluids between parties.

  • It typically includes components such as fluid filtration, pressure regulation, and metering sections to ensure precise measurements.
  • These skids can be designed for both liquid and gas applications, utilizing technologies like ultrasonic flow meters and complying with industry standards.
  • They are essential for fiscal calculations during custody transfer transactions, ensuring that the quantity and quality of the transferred fluids are accurately recorded.

Our flow metering systems are the full gas flow metering system offering. They are provided as a turnkey solution for custody transfer applications. The systems are flexible in design and provide highly accurate measurement data. They are manufactured according to ISO standards and with care to the highest quality using the latest DIN, ANSI, and ASME standards. This means the systems will fulfill local regulations and requirements.

Gas Turbine Package

A gas turbine package is a system that consists of two compartments, one housing the auxiliaries and the other one the gas turbine engine. Both the gas turbine and auxiliaries are mounted on a common integral baseplate and have a common ventilation system. Gas turbine packages are available in both single- and twin-engine configurations, which offer greater than 41 percent simple-cycle efficiency and a nominal 60 to 140 megawatts of power within a modular design that is built utilizing over fifty years of aero-derivative design and packaging experience. The basic components of a gas turbine include a compressor, a combustor, a turbine, an output shaft, and a gearbox. With technical partners in the USA, Europe, and Asia, Bernef Resources Limited has the capacity to manage your projects from conception through to engineering design, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning. We also provide maintenance services for OEM-supplied equipment(s). We stock basic instruments and parts for immediate and/or on-the-spot replacement of any damaged part or instrument in your skid packages.

Amine Gas Treating Skids

Amine gas treating is a technology that removes H2S and CO2 from natural gas and liquid hydrocarbon streams. It uses amines to treat gas or NGL streams to the required levels. These systems are modular and skid-mounted for efficient installation.

Fuel Gas Conditioning Skids

Fuel gas conditioning skid is a technology that pre-treats natural gases and other ignitable gases before infusing them into a basic cycle or a gas turbine generator. The skid performs two functions: removing all liquid droplets and solid contaminants from the gas and adjusting the gas temperature to the injection requirements. It is a gas treatment system used in the oil and gas industry that removes water and contaminants from the gas, leaving the gas clean and dry. Fuel gas conditioning is a process where unrefined natural gas undergoes various physical separation processes to eliminate various impurities typically contained in it. A fuel gas conditioning system will remove condensate and particulate contaminations, leaving a clean gas stream ready for use in various industrial applications. Fuel gas conditioning systems are sometimes required to be mobile to facilitate easier and faster storage and transport. Mounting gas conditioning equipment on skids is an effective way to maintain operational flexibility, as these systems can be quickly transported to areas where they are required. Fuel gas conditioning follows a carefully ordered sequence of steps. The gas conditioning process begins with natural gas, or any other fuel gas type, being channeled through knockout drums where liquid contaminants are eliminated.

Water Bath Heater (THIELMANN)

A water bath heater is an indirect heat exchanger that is used to preheat gases, such as natural gas, in high-pressure systems. It prevents temperature losses during pressure reduction and ensures a constant gas temperature in various industrial applications. Waterbath heaters can be designed in accordance with various international standards and regulations, such as ASME, EN 13445, SVTI, or TEMA. There are also specific designs for applications with sour gas (NACE) and low temperatures down to -50 °C.
